IMPORTANT NOTICE

WOOTTON PARISH COUNCIL

EUROPEAN SUMMIT CONFERENCE 17-18 JULY
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

There will be significant disruption around Blenheim &  Woodstock because of the security
arrangements for the European Summit Conference being held on 18 July. The Parish
Council has been trying to find out more but we are having some difficulty.
We urge everyone to make sure your plans for 17-18 July take account of these security
arrangements.
What we know so far:
1 Blenheim Park will be completely closed – all footpaths and other routes closed

2 The B4437 from the A44 to Stonesfield, Charlbury & Combe will be closed
to non-conference traffic from 2.00 pm on 17 July and all 18 July

3 There will be ‘no waiting/no stopping’ enforced on the A44 all the way from the
Bladon roundabout to Woodleys. The marked parking bays on the A44 in Woodstock will
remain open but the bus stops by Blenheim gate will be suspended.

4 There will be ‘no-fly’ zones around Blenheim and Oxford Airport. This means
no drones as well as no aircraft other than police, military and other authorised air traffic.

5 A44 diversion through Wootton village There is a map circulating which shows
a diversion which runs from the A44 through the centre of Wootton to the B4027 (the
Glympton road) and then through Glympton and back up to the A44. We have been assured
that this is to enable southbound A44 traffic which has ignored the early warning signs and
still hopes to turn right onto the B4437 (but won’t be able to, and doesn’t want to carry on
south to turn right at Bladon roundabout) to be able to turn round and travel back north.
We hope this will not amount to any significant volume but if there are traffic problems in
the village then the County Council should be phoned on the following number: 0345 310
